LIVE TORNADO OUTDOZATIONS: At least 18 dead when severe storms arrived south, Midwest

Millions of Americans throughout the country are on alert for severe climate with tornado watches in force for eight states: Louisiana, Arkansas, Mississippi, Alabama, Tennessee, Kentucky, Indiana and Ohio.

On Saturday a new situation particularly dangerous tornado Watch was issued in much of Mississippi, as well as portions of eastern Louisiana until 6 pm ct tonight. This includes cities such as Jackson, Tupelo, Meridian, Mississippi; and Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

“A tornado outbreak seems imminent with the potential of multiple tornadoes, intense to long and violent roads from noon until tonight,” according to the National Meteorological Service.

Another tornado clock remains in force for the portions of southern Arkansas and northern Louisiana to 1 PM CT this afternoon. A line of severe storms is sweeping east through the region, bringing the threat of strong tornadoes, damaging bursts of wind and great hail.

Any stronger and most slow storm that bring torrential rain could also trigger dangerous flood areas in the next few hours.
