“He was walking and the helicopter fell at an angle of 45 degrees,” Eric Campoverde told ABC News. “Great splash, I was very afraid.”
“It sounded like a sononic boom,” said a witness New York Wabc ABC Station.. He said he saw the “helicopter divided into two with the rotor flying.”
The helicopter was the other way around in the water of 50 degrees when rescuers arrived at the scene, which was closer to the New Jersey side of the Hudson River, according to the sources.
