Suspicious dead after opening fire at the entrance of the Border Patrol building of Texas

A suspect is dead after opening fire at the entrance of the annex of the border patrol sector in McAllen, Texas, on Monday morning, authorities said.

The suspect, identified as Ryan Louis Mosqueda, 27, shot the Federal Building that houses the offices of the United States Border Patrol at the McAllen International Airport, said McAllen police chief, Victor Rodríguez, at a press conference. The suspect never arrived inside the building, but fired “many, many rounds in the building,” Rodríguez said.

A photo of the building’s door showed the damage of the bullets hitting the glass.

Two officers and a border patrol employee were injured, including an officer who was shot in the knee, DHS said. It is expected to be well, police said.
